WEATHER DISCUSSION

An area of low pressure moving in from our north Sunday will track further west than originally anticipated. This is going to bring in cloud cover, showers and cooler air Sunday afternoon. Snow levels will drop from roughly 6,000′ to 4,000′ by Monday morning.

The second half of the weekend will start off sunny. Cloud cover will increase in coverage through the day, preventing high temperatures from warming much. Shower activity will move in from the north across the entire forecast area through the afternoon, with showers continuing through the overnight hours. As snow levels drop these showers will turn to snow in the higher terrain and Klamath Basin.

Lingering showers on Monday will be confined to the Cascades and East Side, with isolated activity across Siskiyou County. The cooler air will really settle in by Monday, as this will be the coldest day of the week. However, highs will remain average through much of the week and will most likely feel even cooler than they actually are due to the recent stretch of warm weather.

Tuesday through Thursday will bring sunny to mostly sunny skies across inland areas with slightly warming temperatures.
