WEATHER DISCUSSION
Yesterday’s front has now swept to our south, and with it, most of the rain and snow has also moved south. Scattered showers are developing to our north but much of Southern Oregon remains dry. Clouds lingering behind this area of low pressure will be with us through the day. Gradual clearing is expected for the second half of the day and high temperatures about 10-15 degrees cooler than Monday.
The bitter cold temperatures will stick around into the weekend. Morning lows are going to be in the single digits in the Basin, and highs will struggle to warm into the 20’s and 30’s across the region.
Our next chance for rain & snow will arrive Friday. This disturbance will be a quick mover, but is capable of bringing low elevation snow with this arctic air mass over the Northwest. Snow levels will stay low and showers will be fairly widespread, although will wrap up by Friday evening. In the coming days, we’ll have a better idea of whether or not snow levels will be at the Valley floor and if snow showers will develop for west side valleys.
The weekend stays dry but our next weathermaker moves in Sunday night. This will bring widespread rain & snow, however snow levels will be higher by this time and rain is expected at the lower elevations.
